Community Meals Inc. is a non-profit, meals on wheels service established in 1971 to meet the nutritional needs of individuals who are unable to shop or cook for themselves due to age or disability. With the cooperation and support of The Valley Hospital Ridgewood, NJ 07450.

*Supports and serves Allendale, Glen Rock, Ho Ho Kus, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Waldwick and part of Saddle River.

What is Community Meals?

Community Meals Inc. is a private nonprofit meal on wheels organization that delivers healthy meals to homebound residents Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Volunteers deliver the meals between 11:30am and 12:30pm. Our office is located at Christ Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Who Qualifies?

If you are ill or disabled (even temporarily) or unable to prepare or obtain meals for yourself, you qualify for our service.

Meals & Who Prepares them?

Each delivery consists of one hot meal and/or one cold meal. Valley Dining at The Valley Hospital prepares the nutritionally balanced meals. Seasonable menus are varied daily. Specialty dietary needs can be accommodated.

Cost?

Meals are affordably priced and there is a sliding scale for those unable to pay the full amount. Billing is done monthly. Bills can be delivered by the volunteer on the first Monday of the month or mailed to you or a designated caregiver.

How to Arrange the Service:

Call the Community Meals office at (201) 447-8295, Monday through Friday between 10:00am and 2:00pm or email: communitymealsonwheels@gmail.com. You can also register on our website: http://www.communitymealsonwheels.org.

Referrals can also be made by doctors, The Valley Hospital Discharge Planning Department as well as other medical and social services in our coverage area. Serving Allendale, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park, Ridgewood, Waldwick and part of Saddle River.

Community Meals Inc. receives no government funding. We depend on private donations to keep our meals affordable to subsidize those in financial need and to assure continued service to our homebound, elderly, convalescent and handicapped clients. Volunteers are always needed. One hour of your time, weekly or bi-weekly, will ensure that homebound individuals will have nutritious meals and daily attention.
